With a stunning stained-glass ceiling, this high-end department store is jaw-dropping. The cherry on top, however, lies on the 7th-floor terrace where you can step out onto the rooftop for amazing views of Paris. Inside, the Galeries Lafayette’s 8 levels of fashion, fragrances, homewares, and accessories also offer elegant eateries and even host twice-weekly fashion shows April – December on Mondays and Fridays at 3pm (tickets 13,90€, reservations required). Note that it can get very crowded. Go during the week and before noon or after 6pm to avoid the busloads of tourists that are dropped off at the door.
