La Coulée Verte
La Coulée Verte, also called La Promenade Plantée, is a nearly 3-mile-long elevated park taking you from Bastille to the nearby suburb of Vincennes. Officially opened in 1993, it served as the inspiration for New York’s famous High Line! This unusual park is one of my favorite places to go for a walk in Paris. Climb the staircase on the corner of the Viaduc des Arts – the red brick archways behind the Opéra Bastille – to reach this atypical Parisian park.
