Open Air Cinema at La Villette

If you’re in Paris during July and August, head to the Parc de La Villette to watch an outdoor movie on the lawn. Wednesday – Sunday nights, the open air cinema presents a wide range of movies with kid-friendly films also on the program. Movies are shown in VO (Version originale, meaning not dubbed) with French subtitles. Screenings don’t start until after dark, but get there an hour or two early to get a good spot and enjoy a picnic. You can bring whatever food and drink you like, but metal corkscrews and cutlery are prohibited. Lounge chairs are available to rent (for a fee) and a concession stand sells popcorn, wine, beer, as well as other snacks and soft drinks.
