Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine

Built in 1784 on the site of the royal priory of La Couture Sainte-Catherine, this quiet cobblestone square is unlike most other spots in Le Marais. Not far from the famous Place des Vosges, this secluded spot features Chinese mulberry trees, plenty of park benches, and several good restaurants with charming terraces. Most often ignored by tourists, this authentically Parisian area is the perfect place to take a break in this beautiful but sometimes too busy neighborhood.
